Cellulose Acetate Coating & Other Finishes on Custom Fabrications
Cellulose acetate coating is a common request for many parts. This standard coating resembles a plastic coating when dried and many customers request it on fasteners and struts of some makes. Inventory Sales Company in St. Louis has one of the largest inventories in the business and even though we have many parts with this coating already in stock, if your company needs specialty coating on fabricated parts, then ISC is the company that can supply your business.

Along with cellulose acetate coatings, ISC can custom fabricate and custom coat your parts with many different coatings. Of course some coatings are not applicable to some materials, but we conform to ISO and ASTM standards for fabrications and any applicable coatings (essentially to make sure that some coatings don’t react with some metal or alloys, oxidizing is a possible problem with some finishes). So, some of our materials finishing includes:
- Cellulose acetate coating – plastic coating available on request
- Plain finishing – plain steel or metals finishing
- Black oxide
- Black phosphates - standard finishes, e.g. drywall screws
- Black phosphate and oil – the oil acts as a rust inhibitor
- Cadmium and wax – smooth finishing although toxic, more limited uses, and usually covered with another coating
- Dacrotized – ceramic coating for fasteners used with treated lumber
- Galvanization/hot dip galvanization – generally the most common corrosion protectant for steels, zinc and iron coatings
- Nickel – frequently used for countersunk/flush nuts and washers
- Paints, primers, shop primers, metallic paints and more
- Yellow zinc – yellow chromate finishing
- Zinc – very economical plating form many fasteners
- Zinc electroplating – thin layer of zinc plating on other metals
- And many other finishings
ISC can deliver on the goods, standard, or custom fabrications. Contact ISC today and get a quote on the parts that your company requires and ask us about the coatings or finishing that you want.
